Low Level Laser Therapy works by supplying energy to the body in the form of billions of photons of light which is of a specific wavelength and has special healing properties. The body absorbs this laser light on a cellular level and transforms it into chemical energy which the body then uses to commence its own tissue repair. The bio-stimulating effect of Laser Therapy causes a decrease in inflammation and pain and an increase in tissue regeneration and healing.

Spine ForceSpine Force Interactive Technology

Spine Force is the first combination of technology and exercise physiology designed to target and tone the 180 intrinsic stabilizer support muscles which reinforce the spinal structure, balance and overall stability and to retrain their specialized nerve pathways in an effort to reduce the onset of debilitating structural conditions that affect 80% to 90% of Americans.

Upper Body Ergometer Upper Body Ergometer (UBE)

The Upper Body Ergometer (UBE) can be used for neuromuscular rehabilitation and increasing core muscle strength.

The UBE allows the user can vary the exercise speed, the work rate, and his/her range of motion for his/her arms. One benefit of the UBE is that it gets the individual to use the muscles of the arms while contributing to the stability of the spine, rib cage, etc. Because of this, the UBE is a safe and effective method to build strength in the neck, upper back and lower back as well as the arms.

In addition, as chiropractic neurologists, the many of the doctors of Adams Chiropractic use the UBE for its neuromuscular benefits. The changing speeds of movements, along with the rotation and other movements of the shoulder, activate a large population of joint and muscle mechanoreceptors. (A mechanoreceptor is a sense organ or cell that responds to mechanical stimuli such as touch or movement.) This increased activation results in an increased frequency of firing of the central neurological structures, like the cerebellum and thalamus. This helps the user to increase in the control of muscles, coordination, and balance.

Versaclimber Versaclimber

The Versaclimber is an exercise machine which allows the user to perform the Cross Crawl while encountering strength-training resistance. What is the Cross Crawl? The "cross-crawl" is the same pattern we use when we crawl, walk or run.

When it comes to our neurological make-up, humans are contralateral beings. (Contralateral means on the opposite side from another structure). What this means is, whenever we are walking, running or crawling, the timing and sequencing of how our limbs move in relation to each other is programmed to always be the same. If your right arm goes forward, your left (opposite) leg will do the same. Then when the left arm goes forward, the right leg will move forward too. This is what is meant by a contralateral (cross pattern) neurological organization. This process is learned as a toddler by crawling on the ground.

These neurological patterns are stored in the cerebral cortex, the cerebellum and spinal and peripheral nerves. Performing the Cross Crawl on the Versaclimber, then, allows the user to strengthen these various parts of his/her brain and nervous system and build upper and lower body strength as well. Cross Crawl exercises are a way to reprogram the nervous system, spinal muscles and various systems to work together at their best.

Sonix: Sonic Whole Body Vibration Machine

What is Sonic Whole-Body Vibration?

Sonic Whole-Body Vibration (SWBV) employs a speaker system with new magnetic circuits. Sonic Whole-Body Vibration -- which is in a natural vertical plane of motion -- has fully adjustable intensity, and is a true sine wave directional change. All of this results in a much more enjoyable and healthy vibrational exercise experience.

Many types of intermediate sports, like walking, power walking, horse riding, etc. are all performed at low frequencies, between 1 ~ 8 Hz. It is now possible with SWBV to exercise at these ultra low frequencies. The movements are only vertical, which is the direction we experience through most of our physical activities.
